AMH Testing
Let’s Talk About Egg Quantity
Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) along with Estrogen (E2) and Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) are the key
indicators of egg quantity and the building blocks of a successful infertility diagnosis and treatment.
The production of AMH is reflective of overall ovarian reserve, or egg quantity, and can be measured at any time. Levels under 1.0 ng/ml are associated with lower egg quantity and higher levels suggest a higher ovarian reserve. Understanding AMH levels can help healthcare providers develop an appropriate ovarian stimulation protocol for each patient.
At Conceptions Reproductive Associates of Colorado, we offer AMH testing separately or as part of a comprehensive infertility workup. For patients who might just want to check their egg reserve, AMH testing costs about $50.00 and can be completed within 24-48 hours.
A physician referral is required for AMH testing.
Not All Assays Are Created Equal
At Conceptions Reproductive Associates of Colorado, we offer AMH testing separately or as part of a comprehensive infertility workup. But did you know that not all assays and results are the same from center to center? In fact, there may be considerable variation between laboratories using the same assay when testing for important hormones like AMH (Zuvela et al., 2013).
At Conceptions, we maintain the highest levels of quality assurance to maintain assay sensitivity and reduce variability. That commitment to excellence and quality is reflected in our success rate of 69.3%, nearly 20-points above the U.S. average. (CDC 2020 Preliminary Live Birth Rates; Per Embryo Transfer; Under 35 Years).
