"Helping couples bring wanted children into loving homes is an immensely rewarding experience."
Mark Bush
MD, FACOG, FACS
Dr. Mark Bush has dedicated his professional life to the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
“I have been a physician for over 30 years. I cannot imagine doing anything else. With the help of so many clinicians, embryologists, nurses, and staff we’ve built Conceptions into one of the leading fertility centers in Colorado and across the US. We understand why hopeful parents come to us and we are committed every day to offering the safety and success that each patient deserves.”
It was Dr. Bush’s initial love of molecular biology and surgery that led him down the path of reproductive endocrinology. He saw the melding of biology and surgery as a way to create life and solve genetic problems.
Education
Dr. Bush graduated from UC Berkeley with high honors with a degree in biology which included honors research in molecular biology.
After obtaining his medical degree at Georgetown University, he completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont and Texas Tech. His training culminated in a three-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Duke University.
“There is no replacement for wisdom and experience. I was always interested in sharing the knowledge I had obtained through my training and pay it forward.” Dr. Bush has held various roles at institutions across the United States from Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Division Director to Clinical Assistant Professor to Associate Professor at medical schools. “Each of these roles allowed me in small part to forward the knowledge and skills that my mentors so generously gave to me”.
Making a Difference
It was in 2004 that Dr. Bush left academics and came to Colorado. Since then, Conceptions has been on the ground floor of day 5 embryo culture in 2006 and chromosome and genetic assessment of embryos in 2009. It was at Conceptions that Dr. Bush really saw the opportunity to make a difference.
“Part of building something great is recruiting good people, giving them the right environment and turning them loose. At Conceptions there was the opportunity to build my own team and provide them with the latitude to do what they excel at for the benefit of our patients. That’s still how we operate at Conceptions today. We give each other autonomy under a shared vision.” stated Dr. Bush.
“We remain academically driven. Our medical protocols have been proven over the years and are continually updated. This methodology allows us to truly put the patient first; our employees come to work FOR the patient.”
When patients come to Conceptions for the first time, I’ve reviewed their past care, they feel listened to, and they have shared that oftentimes they feel a sense of relief. There is a lot of infertility misinformation out there. My colleagues and I are board-certified physicians and personally review our patient’s unique medical history prior to every consultation. We can give them real explanations for why they are not able to become pregnant on their own and discuss a clear plan on how to move forward.
“Couples that are reluctant to enter therapy fear that someone is going to push them into expensive therapy. A consultation at Conceptions is just to figure out why the patient isn’t pregnant and to present options.”
A Personalized Fertility Journey
“If a patient does decide to enter therapy after their initial consultation, they can rest assured that I will be personally managing and assuming responsibility for their journey. Not only do I do the consultations and develop a care plan with the patient, but I am personally involved in all aspects of their care."
"I perform their uterine surgery if required and coordinate with the lab on every aspect of embryo development. This is one of the benefits of receiving treatment at a privately-owned clinic. We can control and optimize every aspect of patient care. We are dedicated to optimal patient outcomes first and foremost – as medicine should be practiced,” added Dr. Bush.
When not helping people realize their dreams of parenthood, Dr. Bush can be found in the great outdoors of Colorado. Whether he’s hiking, mountain biking, skiing, or golfing – his family is always nearby. Dr. Bush is also an avid reader and enjoys the works of John Steinbeck for his compassionate, thoughtful prose and John Updike for his insights into our modern era. Dr. Bush states “good authors are worth relishing!” Musical tastes include 70’s lead guitarists such as Robin Trower, Dwayne Allman, Jimmy Page and the like.
“What’s most important to me at the end of the day is helping bring beautiful daughters and sons into the world. For nothing is more important than family.”

Testimonials
Conceptions was the clear choice
I highly recommend Conceptions! I did a lot of research when searching for the right IVF doctor and Conceptions was the clear choice. They are very friendly and quick to respond, and run extremely efficient operations. Although it is an intensive process, the staff and nurses make it very straight forward and responded to any questions I had immediately. I had a successful first transfer and know it is 100% due to Dr. Bush and his team that are truly amazing and care about each patient's results. I feel fortunate to have found the right place for such a big decision.
We are forever grateful
When we found this place, our hope was diminished. Based on our previous IVF cycle (different clinic in AZ), we were not expecting a positive experience let alone result. What we received was so much more! Dr. Bush had a plan for us right away and provided the confidence to push thru one last time. It worked and we are 32 weeks pregnant! There are not enough words to describe our deep appreciation for his clinical expertise and unbelievably amazing embryology team, IVF and FET RNs. From the blood draw folks to the front fest receptionists, this is a cohesive establishment with ONE goal- to get you pregnant and deliver a live, healthy baby. We are forever grateful.
Dreams come true
After being given very little hope of ever becoming pregnant by other reproductive endocrinologists, I saw Dr Bush at Conceptions. He offered treatment options and, more than anything — hope. It has not been an easy journey and we have had several heartaches and trials, but Dr Bush and his staff never gave up hope, nor did they allow me too. They were not concerned about their statistics and were more concerned about making my dreams come true. Dr Bush was always candid in giving advice and never gave false hope, which was always appreciated. I have now had two successful pregnancies with Dr Bush and Conceptions. They have helped my dreams of becoming a mother come true and I could not be more grateful. I would recommend this clinic to anyone struggling to conceive, even if others have said its impossible.
No better place!
I love love love Conceptions. After two failed IVF attempts at a different clinic I switched to Dr Bush with Conceptions. From the beginning he was kind, understanding, and confident. His nursing staff is amazing as well and was always on top of communication. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of fertility clinics and I am happy to say I am now 9 weeks pregnant. Thank you Dr Bush and Conceptions staff!!!
I am pregnant!
My first day meeting with Dr. Bush, he told me he was so sorry for the years I had spent unable to get pregnant. He told me not to cry because I was going to get pregnant. Less than 6 months later, I am pregnant! He was kind and confident. The entire office is wonderful. To any woman having difficulty getting pregnant, I highly recommend their office. It’s a rough road and having strong support and caring providers is imperative.
